About Open Word Project

I grew up not always feeling like I belonged. For a lot of my life, I believed I wasn't worth much. It took me a long time — and a lot of healing — to understand that wasn't true.

Somewhere along the way, I started working with children — Sunday school, junior church, preschool. And I made myself a promise: every child who watches these videos will see themselves. Every child will hear that they are loved. No exceptions. Nobody left out.

That's how Open Word Project was born.

Along the way, I taught myself video production — much of it during the pandemic, when I started streaming worship from my own home so our church could keep gathering, even apart. What began as figuring things out alone has grown into a full library of children's message videos: Scripture-rooted, grace-centered, three to five minutes, ready for the small church, the busy pastor, and the one volunteer doing everything on a Sunday morning.

These messages are designed especially for:

  • Children's ministry leaders

  • Small churches without curriculum staff

  • Congregations needing ready-to-use worship resources

Every video is:

  • Rooted in Scripture

  • Theologically grounded in Christian tradition

  • Centered on grace, belonging, and the love of God

  • Appropriate for early childhood through approximately 3rd grade

At the heart of this ministry is one conviction: Every child deserves to know they are seen, known, and deeply loved by God.

That conviction shapes every choice — including who appears on screen. Children of different races, abilities, and family configurations take turns leading each week's message, because every child watching deserves to see someone who looks like them.

Open Word Project exists to support churches in sharing that truth clearly and beautifully.

Future offerings will include short reflections for adults and special liturgical resources, expanding this ministry of storytelling and encouragement.
